Accommodations
Helsinki hosts a wide range of accommodations from five-star hotels to hostels and airbnbs. As a popular location for conferences, its accommodation facilities have much experience in hosting conference attendees.
The area directly surrounding the congress venue is mostly home to residential and governmental buildings, but it is possible to find accommodation reasonably close in the surrounding Kaisaniemi and Esplanadi and Hakaniemi areas. The most common options for congress participants are the three-star hotels Hotel Arthur and Hotel Scandic Kaisaniemi. More upscale accommodations can be found in the Esplanadi area, in for example Hotel Haven, Hotel Kämp or Hilton Helsinki Strand.

On European standards the average hotel rates tend to skew to the expensive. If price is a consideration, we recommend booking well in advance and if possible, sharing a room with other participants. Finnish hotels are well represented on international booking websites and also have their own websites in English with broad options for online payment. All the forementioned hotels are within walking distance of the congress venue, but if your accommodation is further away from the city centre, you can also reach it by bus, tram or metro.

Public transport
To arrive at the congress venue, we recommend using the Kaisaniemenkatu (Kajsaniemigatan) tram stop, the Kaisaniemenpuisto (Kajsaniemiparken) bus stop or the metro stop University of Helsinki and then walking 10 minutes towards the venue, past the university campus. A second option is taking the tram number 7 to the stop Hallituskatu (Regeringsgatan) which shortens the walk to a mere 3 minutes.
If you are in need of public transport, we recommend downloading the Helsinki region public transport app, which allows the easy purchase of single or day tickets for use within the metropolitan area. All congress activities are located within the transportation zone AB, however the Helsinki-Vantaa airport is situated in the ABC region. The airport is reachable via train, bus or taxi transport. Taxis tend to be expensive in the Helsinki area and to be sure about the fare, we suggest using the registered companies of Taksi Helsinki or Kovanen instead of hailing a cab at a taxi stand.
